On May 10, 2014, the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain will launch its thirtieth anniversary celebration and invites the public to discover Vivid Memories, the first exhibition of this exceptional year. In perpetual motion for five months, this exhibition brings together the community of artists with which the Fondation Cartier has built a history as a pioneer patron of the arts.

The celebration will be in two parts, featuring some of the most emblematic and spectacular works in the Fondation Cartier’s history. Vivid Memories, the first stage of this anniversary year, promises to surprise viewers with a continuously evolving presentation from May to September. Works such as Marc Newson’s airplane, James Lee Byars’ monumental golden sphere, Panamarenko’s submarine, Raymond Hains’s Brise-lames, Chéri Samba’s paintings, Mœbius’s notebooks, Ron Mueck’s sculpture In Bed and Bodys Isek Kingelez’s city will be presented over the weeks and months.
