The Fondation Cartier presents a selection of paintings and works made by the American artist Vija Celmins between 1982 and 1995.
On coming into contact with hyperrealism and minimal art, Vija Celmins’ work was impregnated with a profound spirituality. She reinvents the way we see and perceive the real. Of rigorous beauty, her paintings of deserts, sky and sea bring together the feeling of the intimate and the infinite.
