Location

Gare Montparnasse

As part of Exposition Générale, the inaugural exhibition of the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in its new Paris spaces at Place du Palais-Royal, the institution has partnered with the RATP to present a selection of photographs from its collection in the corridor of the Montparnasse metro station.

The photographs presented here feature works by seven artists—Claudia Andujar, Valérie Belin, William Eggleston, Graciela Iturbide, Seydou Keïta, Daido Moriyama, and J. D. ’Okhai Ojeikere—drawn from a collection comprising 138 photographers representing 30 countries.

Reflecting the Fondation’s international outlook and the diversity of approaches and sensibilities within its Collection, this selection brings the experience of Exposition Générale beyond museum walls and into everyday life.
