More than fashion, Philippe Model’s medium of expression is the accessory, an unnecessary novelty that escapes trends and that yet brings life, taste, and humor. Philippe Model has accessorized the fashion shows of numerous French and international designers and couturiers.

With a touch of humor and a whole lot of imagination, Philippe Model staged all of his own accessories in Ouka Lele’s photographs, presented by the Fondation Cartier as part of Photo Month. Ouka Lele created a series of twenty-nine images using Philippe Model’s accessories as the subjects. On this occasion, the photographer used a giant Polaroid camera: the only device in Europe that produces instant images 20 x 24 inches in size.
