For a deeper insight: a conference led by a curator in the exhibition spaces, focusing on one or more artworks, in the presence of artists or guest speakers.

Exposition Générale, the inaugural exhibition at the Fondation Cartier in its new premises on Place du Palais-Royal, presents a collection of photographs by Daido Moriyama from the Fondation Cartier collection.

This visit aims to examine the place of photography within the Fondation Cartier's programme and collection and to revisit the major themes of Daido Moriyama's photographic work.

Spanning from the 1960s to the present day, Moriyama's practice encompasses both black-and-white and colour photography, and moves between different modes of production and distribution, from the press to books and prints. His imagination unfolds across a variety of media and contexts, constituting one of the most important bodies of work in contemporary Japanese photography and, more broadly, in the second half of the 20th century.

Portrait Jean Kenta Gauthier 2026

Jean-Kenta Gauthier

Jean-Kenta Gauthier is the founder of the eponymous gallery, which represents international artists whose practices articulate poetry and politics through conceptual art and photography, from installations to books. Founded in 2014, the gallery operates as a laboratory for research and experimentation: it supports the production of projects and creates the conditions for encounters between a work and its audience. Its programme is presented in its two Parisian spaces as well as in public and private institutions. In 2024, the gallery launched the artist book collection JBE & JKG Books, in association with JBE Books. The gallery participates in the Paris Photo and Art Basel fairs and is a member of Paris Gallery Map. Jean-Kenta sits on the Paris Photo gallery selection committee.
