The Temps de la parole invite visitors to take a seat within the Parliament of Ghosts installation, designed as a space for exchange and an agora. These gatherings bring together the artists of the exhibition as well as guest artists in dialogue with Ibrahim Mahama’s practice, art schools, and partner institutions.

As part of the exhibition Le Temps des récoltes, Fondation Cartier is hosting the « Design des Territoires » (Design and Territories) program (École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs – PSL) and its Réunion Island branch, « Design des Mondes Insulaires » (Design of Island Worlds), within Ibrahim Mahama's installation Parliament of Ghosts.

What do we choose to transmit? What do we do with the places, gestures, and stories that fade away? To explore these questions, alumni designers invite the public to a Ron Kozé—an assembly form rooted in the oral traditions of the Indian Ocean. Echoing Ibrahim Mahama's work, this gathering examines the transmission of knowledge and the capacity to create from one's home territory, asserting that knowledge and resources do not flow solely from the margins to the center.

Set within three discussion amphitheaters, the designers present their approach through witness-objects (volcanic rocks, endemic plants, sound archives, weaving). Grounded in field investigation, immersion, and co-creation with local residents, their practice brings back to life narratives threatened with erasure. The public is invited to take part in this conversation by sharing, in turn, a place, a gesture, or a memory to preserve.
