The Fondation Cartier celebrates photographic creation by hosting a creative session centered around the legendary Polaroid 20 × 24 camera. Seven artists, invited by French institutions, have been invited to experiment with this exceptional medium in the presence of the public.

Building on the symposium “Collections photographiques françaises : histoires en devenir”, the Fondation Cartier has partnered with the Polaroid Foundation to present this unique workshop. The project pays tribute to a little-known chapter in the Fondation’s history, which had previously hosted the camera in 1988 alongside Spanish photographer Ouka Leele. Conceived as an open space for dialogue with the public, this initiative allows representatives of French photographic collections to nominate an artist to explore the full artistic and expressive possibilities of the large-format Polaroid at the Fondation Cartier.

Detailled programme coming soon.
