Bruno Novelli pour l'exposition Siamo Foresta, Triennale di Milano, Milan, 2023

Bruno Novelli is a Brazilian painter who studied graphic design at the Atelier Livre da Prefeitura de Porto Alegre and the Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing of São Paulo (ESPM).

Bruno Novelli has participated in two off-site group exhibitions conceived by the Fondation Cartier: Les Vivants as part of the 6th edition of lille3000, Utopia in 2022, as well as in the Siamo Foresta exhibition at Triennale Milano in 2023. In 2025, he is participating in Exposition Générale, the inaugural exhibition of the Fondation Cartier at 2, place du Palais-Royal in Paris.

Novelli's vibrant psychedelic compositions are often strongly inspired by popular cultures as well as ancient Amazonian myths. His work feature fantastical animals and dreamlike tropical panoramas that are carefully crafted with colourful geometric motifs. The artist draws his inspiration from an imaginary forest, which he transforms into a luxurious entangled organic entity made up of varied landscapes, flora and fauna. This theme enables him to make use of highly diverse styles and symbolic referents, from the chimeras of medieval frescoes to the representational forms of landscapes used in many types of Asian art. The result is a veritable ode to vegetal tones.
