Double vie, Double vue

Through the work of some of the biggest names in photography, such as Diane Arbus, Jacques-Henri Lartigue, or Harvey Stein, the exhibition catalog Double vie, Double vue takes a thought-provoking look at identity, difference and similarity, resemblance and dissemblance, imposture and pretence. It examines faces and people who function in pairs, complementary duos and creators, such as the Starn Twins or the Lumière brothers. An imaginary journey in a dual world, the book retraces in words and pictures the exhibition Double vie, Double vue, conceived by Patrick Rœgiers and presented at the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in 1996.
