My Totem Tree

The young artists will use a stencil to paint the silhouette of a child forming an imaginary tree trunk on a sheet of colored paper. They will then draw the branches and roots with black ink, and take inspiration for the foliage from the scientific precision of Francis Hallé and the lyricism of the works of Alex Cerveny. Lastly, they will fill the environment of their “totem tree” with life by adding birds, small mammals, and insects, in the style of artists from Chaco.
