Organized around the themes of the twin and the mirror image, of displacement and hesitation, être nature is an exhibition about the gaze. The bewildering sense of illusion and doubt brought about by something that has issued from the artist hand or has been made to resemble a natural “ready made” raises fundamental questions about what is constituted by a work of art.

Exhibition overview
Revealing the mysterious beauty contained in works of art or nature, the exhibition être nature plays on the visual ambiguity between these two forms of creation. Bringing together contemporary artists from all over the world, être nature is an intersection of current aesthetic concerns and raises questions that recur throughout the history of painting.
