“The idea of making a home in the Fondation Cartier also reflects a desire to regain a certain kind of liberty in my work, like what I had when I was 20 years old. It’s also a way of showing that the artist is not just someone who makes videos or paintings but also someone who has been looking for and inventing things since he was little, who tries to delve into different forms of expression, not necessarily to find a precise route but simply because curiosity sometimes makes us incapable of getting stuck in one mode of expressions.”
Pierrick Sorin, 2000.
