“Since its founding, through its workshops and exhibits, the Fondation Cartier has devoted itself to providing new information and promoting little-known artists. Carnets de Voyages – 1 fulfills this mission. The regular encounter with the artists, the atmosphere, the images, the workshop books, and the particular culture of the country disrupt our approach. The effect of the individual is superimposed on the effect of the work. It is by this constant change in judgment, through the direct encounter with the artist, that our taste for contemporary art and for travel are inspired.”
