“Djourou is the string that connects me to others.”
Ballaké Sissoko

The unrivalled master of kora, Ballaké Sissoko releases Djourou, a stunning album of musical collaborations featuring a host of artists from all horizons. For this Nomadic Night concert, he performs on stage alongside musicians Patrick Messina and of course, Vincent Ségal, his loyal friend and accomplice, as well as Arthur Teboul, lead singer with Feu! Chatterton, in what promises to be a thrilling transmusical dialogue.

For over forty years, Ballaké Sissoko has been travelling with his kora (a type of lute-harp emblematic of West African music), all around the world. A talented improviser and composer, he enjoys confronting his music with other musical spheres. In 2009, he fused his kora with Vincent Ségal’s cello on the glorious album Chamber Music. With Djourou, he expands the circle of collaborations to artists from other musical universes, who have also fallen in love with the sound of the kora.

A Nomadic Night of friendship and musical encounters to bring us closer together.

“The grand master of the kora has released a new album, Djourou, where he joyfully displays the art of musical conversation.”
Soro Solo, Pan African Music

“Dreamy and adventurous.”
Neil Spencer, The Guardian

“A kora that goes straight for the heart.”
Vincent Brunner, Les Inrockuptibles
