« Yasmine Dubois, alias Lafawndah, whose voice captures our heart »
Les Inrockuptibles
After 2019’s Ancestor Boy, a first pop album that made a big splash and took her around the world, and forays into the fashion, film and contemporary art worlds (particularly with Laure Prouvost for the Venice Biennale), Lafawndah, the captivating singer and producer, is continuing her musical explorations with The Fifth Season. This incantatory and prophetic new album (released in September 2020 on the label Latency) combines electronic layers, prescient percussion and crepuscular brass – “ballads for an upside-down world”, in the words of Lafawndah, who invites us to imagine the resurrection of a devastated world.
For this Nomadic Night, Lafawndah is preparing a new live show, and has announced “a vital, ancestral moment” for this reunion with audiences. A few guests will join her onstage (Crystallmess, Chouf, Trustfall).
