About the publication

For its “Ateliers en liberté” in 1989, the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain offered six young European sculptors a residency followed by a group exhibition. Elisabeth Ballet, Sylvie Blocher, Eugenio Cano, Grenville Davey, Thomas Grünfeld, and Marin Kasimir all took part in this project. The exhibition and the accompanying catalog, both soberly entitled Aspects de la jeune sculpture européenne, retraced this innovative adventure in pictures.
