- Finir en beauté: a theatrical play on September 11
Monday, September 11 at 8:00 PM
Finir en beauté
Theater in the garden of the Fondation Cartier
Written, created and performed by: Mohamed El Khatib
Set design: Fred Hocké
Soundscape: Nicolas Jorio
Using a collection of interviews, emails, texts, diary excerpts, phone messages, official paperwork and other first-hand sources, Mohamed El Khatib (re)traces the bittersweet story of his mother's illness and death and his mourning. With simplicity and modesty, he explores the forms of personal narrative as he pieces together snapshots of a family's life. A moving witty play that puts the universally vulnerable words of grief on stage. What follows is a road trip to an unexpected inheritance in Renault 12.
Duration: 50 minutes
Seated show. No assigned seats.
In the event of rain, the play will be performed in the Fondation Cartier exhibition spaces.
