Night of Speed
A night conducted by Cédric Villani in the garden of the Fondation Cartier
With : Juliette Armanet (singer, songwriter), Jean François Clervoy (astronaut from ESA and president of Novespace), Elie During (philosopher), Alain Fleischer (writer, filmmaker, plastician, founder and director of Le Fresnoy - Studio National), Gaël Guilhem (director of the laboratory Sport, Expertise and Performance from INSEP), Léonore Perrus (double world champion of team sabre) and Peter Wolf (physicist of Paris Observatory).
Defined in mechanics as the change of position over time, we use the concept of speed to measure motion. But this concept extends well beyond the mechanics! At a late night opening session of the Autophoto exhibition, mathematician Cédric Villani teams up with philosophers, engineers, athletes and artists to explore speed. This new Night of Uncertainty will delve into topics from scientific instruments and cutting-edge technologies to all-time sports records and stories about adrenalin. Not to mention the accelerated pace of our lives in response to a specific concept of slowness.
Seated show. No assigned seats.
Access for exhibition ticket holders only, within the limit of available seats.
In the event of rain, the Night of Speed will be held in the exhibition spaces of the Fondation Cartier.
